OPA takes an assertive stance in advocating for increases to private, auto, and workplace insurance thresholds. OPA has been increasing pressure to reform these models of compensation with decreased administrative burdens, regulatory oversight and service fees that align with the value provided by physiotherapists.
OPA has been relentlessly pressuring the government to complete the implementation of scope of practice changes that passed through legislation more than 15 years ago, including enabling the authority for physiotherapists to order diagnostic imaging and laboratory tests.
OPA supports students, new graduates and experienced PTs to participate in Ontario’s transformation priorities with a focus on expanding access through the Community Physiotherapy Centre (CPC) Program, Surgical Centres, new Primary Care models of delivery.
The Private Practice Advisory Committee is made up of volunteer members who advise OPA staff and the Board of Directors on issues affecting private practice physiotherapy.
This committee ensures your voice is heard on policy decisions that impact your practice.
