This workshop introduces how Yoga can be used to meet the challenges faced by clients having Scoliosis. Based on techniques from internationally acclaimed Iyengar instructor Elise Browning Miller which includes:

  • Anatomy of the common Scoliotic Curves
  • A overview of spinal assessment and identification of compensatory mechanisms seen in clients with scoliosis
  • A introduction of the principles of using yoga postures for individual scoliotic curves

Through a variety of yoga practices and poses, people with scoliosis can develop improved structural alignment, become more symmetrical, and find the balance point that allows the scoliosis curve to coexist with gravity. This workshop will introduce the principle skills and confidence to offer an active approach to scoliotic treatment.
