Brief Description

Course Objectives

Participants will be able to:

  1. Comprehensively assess clients at the level of upper limb structure and function, activity and participation.
  2. Determine achievable daily life goals for each client and link these to aims for body structure and function.
  3. Apply the Upper Limb Hypertonicity Intervention Planning Model (HIPM) to a range of clients with differing presentations to choose a tailored package of interventions for each client.
  4. Confidently apply intervention options in an individualised way, including resting and functional splints, casting, and referral and follow up from Botulinum toxin injection and orthopaedic surgery.
  5. Evaluate their upper limb neurorehabilitation practice for ongoing improvement in clinical reasoning and intervention implementation.
