Neil Pearson will be joining the conference faculty to discuss Pain Science and Management. Neil Pearson is a Clinical Assistant Professor at UBC, and a leader in the field of physiotherapy and yoga therapy pain management. In 2013-2014 he was invited to work with the BC Medical Association, developing and present practice modules in primary care pain management.
Neil is the Founding Chair of the Canadian Physiotherapy Pain Science Division, a 2011 recipient of the PABC's Excellence in Clinical Practice Contribution award, and the 2012 recipient of the Canadian Pain Society's Excellence in Interprofessional Pain Education Award.
Neil's clinical work in Penticton is exclusively with people with complex and persistent pain. He offers his pain management, education and yoga therapy services throughout BC, Canada and internationally through workshops, continuing education, pain management training programs and retreats. A professor in the Duke University PT department. Dr. Derek Clewley’s area of expertise and training is orthopaedics and manual physical therapy. He was a key author in APTA’s Clinical Practice Guidelines update Neck Pain Revisions 2017 in JOSPT.
Michael is recognized as an international leader in the diagnosis and treatment of musculoskeletal disorders with a neural aspect. Author of an international best seller text book, Clinical Neurodynamics, (Elsevier)and has published two other books, Moving in on Pain (Elsevier) and Biomechanics of the Nervous System: Breig Revisited.
