    Key messages & talking points

Common questions about physiotherapy and how to answer them.

This messaging may be helpful when connecting with patients, engaging with local media, or creating posts during National Physiotherapy Month. The clearer we tell the story of physiotherapy, the greater the impact we can make.

Physiotherapy is a recognized, evidence-based health profession. Physiotherapists play a crucial role in the health of individuals and populations throughout the healthcare system and across their lifespan.

Physiotherapy is essential for health and well-being. Physiotherapists assess and diagnose injuries and conditions. They also treat and can help prevent injuries or re-injury. Physiotherapists help manage chronic conditions.

Physiotherapists work in every part of the health system. Whether patients require home care, physiotherapy in their community, or are currently in a hospital, long-term care facility, or a rehabilitation centre, everyone can access a physiotherapist. All physiotherapists in Ontario are registered with the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario and can easily be found by searching for “physiotherapy” in your area.
