Calling All Ontarians! This election share with candidates in your riding why physiotherapy matters to you and those you care for. Download the Key Messages to give to candidates and/or to inform conversations or questions for door-to-door canvassing, contacts, social media or town halls.
Now, more than ever, physiotherapy matters to Ontario and Ontarians.
To come back stronger from the pandemic
For a healthy return to work for our workforce
To recover from long pandemic-delayed surgeries and procedures
To live healthy and safely as independently as possible in our communities
To keep moving and active at home even when home means long-term care
THIS ELECTION
We call on all candidates to commit to act so that Ontarians have equitable, timely access to the essential services provided by physiotherapists, physiotherapy residents and assistants.
WE CALL ON CANDIDATES TO SUPPORT…
FAIR & EQUITABLE FUNDING & COMPENSATION
Fair and equitable funding and compensation for physiotherapists, physiotherapy residents and assistants across sectors to ensure critical resources, human and financial, are there for quality, evidence-based care for all Ontarians, not just those who can pay out of pocket.
EXPAND BUSINESS SUPPORTS TO CLINICS
Expanding access to pandemic business supports and grants to small and medium-sized physiotherapy clinics hard hit by public health restrictions, loss of revenue and increased costs including those associated with prescribed personal protective equipment.
ADDRESS WORKFORCE SHORTAGES
Strengthening the physiotherapy workforce and addressing the growing HR shortages across all practice venues by implementing regulation changes to expedite qualified candidates to full independent practice and by finalizing the implementation of the remaining regulations to allow all physiotherapists to work up to their full clinical competencies including ordering needed laboratory tests and diagnostic imaging within scope.
