Job Description

Project Manager /Physiotherapist

Hours per Week:14 

Join our dynamic team as a Project Manager (part-time), assisting in a groundbreaking clinical trial focused on a new home-based rehabilitation program for older adults recovering from hip fractures. Reporting to the Principal Investigator, you'll spearhead various research activities, including project coordination, protocol development, and data analysis. Your role will involve physiotherapy assessment and treatment, managing project timelines, liaising with collaborators, and supervising junior staff. Flexibility and a proactive approach are essential. If you're a registered Physiotherapist with project coordination experience and a passion for impactful research, we welcome you to contribute to this pioneering initiative. This job requires physical presence in Kingston Ontario. Benefits are provided with accordance with Queen’s University policy. 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Manage research project independently, ensuring adherence to protocols and timelines.
  • Oversee data collection, analysis, and interpretation, maintaining high-quality standards.
  • Conduct physiotherapy assessments and treatments following study protocols.
  • Coordinate with research sites, partners, and participants, ensuring smooth operations.
  • Supervise and support junior staff, prioritizing tasks and fostering team collaboration.
  • Monitor project budgets and report as per institutional guidelines.
  • Undertake additional duties as required to support project success. 

Required Qualifications: 

  • Master's or PhD in a health-related research field preferred.
  • Registered Physiotherapist in good standing with a minimum of three years' experience.
  • Experience coordinating research projects is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with the Ontario healthcare system.
  • Proficiency in qualitative and/or quantitative data analysis preferred.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills. 

Special Skills: 

  • Ability to make independent decisions and manage complex issues effectively.
  • Excellent time management and attention to detail.
  • Strong technical and scientific writing abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Self-directed with proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively. 

Decision Making: 

  • Manage day-to-day priorities to achieve project goals.
  • Assess data regularly and make informed decisions.
  • Resolve problems and escalate as necessary.
  • Provide input on research procedures and documentation.
  • Participate in candidate selection and provide guidance to casual staff.
