Students & New Grads – New to Practice Community

The Ontario Physiotherapy Association (OPA) has created a new online forum for new to practice members, whether it be new graduates, bridging program students or physiotherapists and physiotherapist assistants in transition, through ignitephysio. The New to Practice Community is a private group where members can ask questions and share resources, as well as receive information from the Association.

Students – New Volunteer Program

The purpose of this program is to match students with a practicing volunteer member to shadow them while they volunteer at a variety of community health fairs and events across Ontario.

PCE Annual Information Sessions

Each year the OPA offers one information session to each University in Ontario offering a physiotherapy program. The sessions are approximately two hours long and have the perspectives of both a past PNE examiner and a recent graduate who has already taken the exam. We offer this session to all second year students who are about to take the clinical component of the Physiotherapy Competency Exam and if that’s not exciting enough we also throw in a bunch of FREE pizza and pop to sweeten the deal.

Keep an eye out for a message from your student rep for the next session being offered at your University.

New Graduate Kit

The OPA New Grad Kit 2018 contains information to help recent physiotherapy graduates with their transition into professional practice. Find information on salary expectations, contract negotiations, scope of practice updates and much more!
